My 1001 Day Project ends in

  1. Reach an ideal wieght of 190 pounds.
  2. Learn how to swim.
  3. Learn how to ride a bike.
  4. Start a list of authors whom I’d like to read.
  5. Read at least 30 new books, 15 of which must be written by individuals from my list of authors whom I’d like to read.
  6. Study philosophy. Obtain a book covering the basic branches and principles of philosphy, and then choose and read 5 additional books from various authors such as Plato, Descartes, Nietzsche, etc.
  7. Choose an era and geographical area of History and study it. Read at least three books covering the time period and area.
  8. Start a dream journal. Keep it bedside and regularly update it for at least three months.
  9. Begin a writing journal to brainstorm ideas and develop a background for a story.
  10. Write a short story after developing a writing journal for at least a month.
  11. After writing a short story, begin writing a full novel. Complete at least 100 pages.
  12. Write “An Ode to Fred”, my memoirs of Fred the Snowman, for Vicky’s scrapbook.
  13. Learn French well enough to enjoy all my French language movies without subtitles.
  14. Decide on a path to pursue for a college or university degree.
  15. Start coursework and go back to school with the intention of getting said degree.
  16. Get Cisco CCSP certified.
  17. Get ISC2 CISSP certified.
  18. Study Taoism. Read at least two books on the subject.
  19. Meditate every morning for at least 30 days straight.
  20. Make a list of tools required to start doing leatherworking crafts. Assemble tools and find a supplier for leather.
  21. Choose a beginning leatherworking project (such as a belt or a wallet) and repeat until satisfied with the quality of work.
  22. After completing first leather project, take on a more difficult one.
  23. Learn how to braid leather.
  24. Begin practicing calligraphy once more. Memorize at least 4 alphabet sets.
  25. Take up bonzai (preferably with trees, not kittens).
  26. Learn to cook chinese cuisine.
  27. Develop and launch a personal website, or blog.
  28. Develop a “Starry Night” theme for WordPress.
  29. Learn how to dance in at least two different styles (salsa, swing, ballroom, etc).
  30. Go to at least two live concerts for bands I enjoy.
  31. Go to a live orchestral concert where classical music is played.
  32. Watch one of Shakespeare’s plays performed live in a theater.
  33. Watch a contemporary play in a theater.
  34. Buy at least 50 new music albums.
  35. Complete at least 30 tarot readings. Keep a complete journal of them.
  36. Read a book on etiquette.
  37. Pick an area where I feel I’m not being courteous or thoughtful, and go out of my way to focus on that area for a week. Do this at least 12 times.
  38. Take a defensive driving course.
  39. Go to a club that plays music I enjoy at least once.
  40. Purchase a prosumer-grade digital camera.
  41. Complete a photo album with at least 100 photos I’ve taken and really enjoy.
  42. Assemble the equipment required to take up basic silversmithing.
  43. Learn how to solder silver and practice until I’m happy with the level of worksmanship.
  44. Craft a basic piece of silver jewelry, such as a beaded bracelet or necklace.
  45. Buy my own car and have it paid for in full.
  46. Move into my own apartment once more.
  47. Go to Australia for Halloween 2006.
  48. Visit Teresa in California.
  49. Visit Mandy in Maine.
  50. Visit at least two other places on the east coast that I’ve always wanted to go to (Boston, for example).
  51. Travel to New Zealand.
  52. Go indoor rock climbing at least once.
  53. Go snow skiing.
  54. Go ice skating.
  55. Donate blood at least 4 times.
  56. Recertify in both Adult CPR and First-Aid.
  57. Research possible charities and join one.
  58. Do volunteer work for a local charity at least twice.
  59. Send Vicky at least 30 postcards.
  60. Send 30 postcards to other friends and family members.
  61. Learn 30 new origami patterns.
  62. Complete each origami sculpture and give it to someone whom I think would appreciate it.
  63. Investigate different martial arts, pick one, and pursue it.
  64. Pursue the possibility of learning re-enactment sword fighting. Find out if there is at least anywhere local to train or spar.
  65. Organize a workout schedule combining aerobic and muscle building exercises.
  66. Keep a detailed log of adherence to said schedule.
  67. Visit chinatown in Seattle at least 3 times.
  68. Meditate in the Chinese Garden in Seattle.
  69. Celebrate Chinese New Year in Seattle.
  70. Start an initial investment of $1000 in a mutual fund or high yield savings account.
  71. Double the amount of money in said investment fund within a year.
  72. Go horseback riding.
  73. Hold a gaming night at least 30 times. Try a new game I’ve never played before each time.
  74. Become friends with at least one new person.
  75. Go hiking at least 10 times, a different trail each time.
  76. Go camping at least 5 times, a different place each time.
  77. Visit at least two botanical gardens in Washington State.
  78. Visit at least 12 different local wineries. Buy a bottle of wine each time.
  79. Memorize all 88 constellations, including names, seasons and positions.
  80. Work out a full extended budget, including monthly expenses and expidentures like travel to Australia.
  81. Start my own vegetable and herb garden.
  82. Cook a meal made with produce picked from said garden.
  83. Go through a month without making extraneous purchases (DVDs, Music, Books, etc). Put that extra money into savings instead. Do this at least 4 times.
  84. Visit Cedar Point amusement park. Ride all 16 roller coasters.
  85. Go to the doctor for a full physical.
  86. Visit the Washington or Oregon coast (not Seattle). Watch the sunset over the ocean.
  87. Build a huge sandcastle.
  88. Get my hair cut. Not short. Just shorter.
  89. Dye my hair a different color.
  90. Get a piercing.
  91. Catalog my books, DVDs and CDs. Start wish lists of titles I don’t have.
  92. Go snowmobiling.
  93. Go sailing.
  94. Ride in a helicopter.
  95. Get a puppy.
  96. Take voice lessons.
  97. Choose 10 different people and send them something as a “secret admirer” without telling them it was from me.
  98. Send my mother flowers for Mother’s Day.
  99. Visit all my siblings at least twice, excluding the upcoming family reunion.
  100. Join a local interest group or community on-line. Participate in discussions and visit a meet-up at least once.
  101. Go geocaching. Start my own geocache and add it to the community.
